What is Personal Independence Payment?
Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is a UK government benefit designed to help with the extra costs of living for people with long-term health conditions or disabilities, including autism. It provides financial support to individuals who have difficulties with daily tasks or mobility due to their condition.
PIP is divided into two components:
- Daily Living Component – for people who need help with everyday tasks like cooking, washing, or managing medication.
- Mobility Component – for people who need assistance getting around.
The amount of PIP you can receive depends on how your condition affects your daily life and mobility. PIP is not means-tested, so it’s not based on income or savings.
