Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 28 September 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply when you purchase or book a service, screening tool, event, group, training course, online course or other paid activity from ASD Helping Hands. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

2. Making a purchase or booking

When you place an order through our website, you are responsible for making sure the information you provide is accurate. Your purchase is confirmed when payment has been successfully completed and you receive confirmation from ASD Helping Hands.

Some services require additional information after payment. This may include completing a questionnaire, application form or registration form using a secure link sent to you after purchase.

3. Events, groups, training courses and dated activities

Some events, groups, face-to-face training courses, workshops and activities take place on a specific date or during a specific period. Where a booking is for a service related to a leisure activity on a specific date or during a specific period, the usual 14-day cancellation right may not apply. If that legal exception does not apply to your booking, your statutory cancellation rights take priority over the timetable below.

Unless different cancellation terms are clearly shown when you book:

  • Cancellations made at least 7 days before the activity will normally receive a full refund.
  • Cancellations made less than 7 days before the activity may be offered a transfer to another suitable date or credit where this is available.
  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the activity, or non-attendance without cancellation, will normally not be refunded.

We recognise that unexpected circumstances happen and may consider exceptions where appropriate. If ASD Helping Hands cancels an event, group, training course or activity, you will normally be offered a full refund or the option to transfer to another available date.

4. Online Learning and digital course access

Paid Online Learning may give you access to course material shortly after payment. Where a purchase supplies digital content immediately, checkout will ask you to agree to immediate access and acknowledge the effect this has on your cancellation right before access begins.

Where the purchase is a service rather than digital content, the service cancellation rules below apply. Your statutory rights continue to apply if digital content or a service is faulty or does not match what was agreed.

5. Screening Tools

When you purchase a screening service, access to the relevant questionnaire or assessment process may be provided immediately after payment. The service may include receiving and processing your questionnaire, reviewing the information provided and preparing or supplying a report or other agreed output.

For services purchased online, you normally have 14 days from entering into the contract to cancel. If you ask us to start the service during this period, we may begin work immediately. If you cancel after the service has started, we may charge a reasonable amount for work already completed.

6. PIP and DLA support

Our PIP and DLA services provide support with benefit applications and related processes. This may include questionnaires, preparation of information, application support, form preparation, Mandatory Reconsideration support or other support described when you purchase the service.

After payment, we may immediately send the questionnaire or secure link needed to begin the service. You normally have 14 days from entering into the service contract to cancel. If you request that we start during those 14 days, work may begin immediately and, if you later cancel, we may charge a reasonable amount reflecting work already completed.

Purchasing PIP or DLA support does not guarantee that the Department for Work and Pensions or another organisation will make any particular award, payment, rate or decision.

7. Starting a service or digital access straight away

For services such as Screening Tools, PIP and DLA support, checkout may ask you to request that ASD Helping Hands starts the service straight away rather than waiting until the end of the normal 14-day cancellation period.

If you make that request, we can begin supplying the service immediately. If you cancel during the 14-day period after work has started, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for the service already supplied. Where the service is fully completed after your request for an immediate start and your acknowledgement of the effect on your cancellation right, your right to cancel because you have changed your mind ends when the service has been fully performed.

Where digital content is supplied immediately, we will ask for your express consent to immediate supply and your acknowledgement that the cancellation right is lost when supply begins.

8. Information you provide

You are responsible for providing information that is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge. The quality and accuracy of forms, reports and other support may depend on the information supplied to us. If important information is missing, we may need to contact you before we can continue.

9. Our services

ASD Helping Hands will provide purchased services with reasonable care and skill. Where no specific completion date has been agreed, we will provide the service within a reasonable time. Any estimated completion times shown on our website are estimates unless we expressly agree a specific deadline with you.

10. Cancellations and refunds

You can ask to cancel by using our Cancellation Form or by emailing contact@asdhelpinghands.org.uk. You do not have to use the form if you otherwise make it clear that you wish to cancel.

Where a statutory cancellation right applies and a refund is due, we will reimburse you without undue delay and within the period required by law, normally using the original payment method. If you believe you have been charged twice or have made an incorrect payment, contact us and we will investigate and correct genuine duplicate or incorrect payments.

If ASD Helping Hands cannot provide a service you have purchased, we will normally offer an appropriate refund or, where suitable and agreed with you, an alternative service or date.

11. Personal information and complaints

We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law.

Some services involve health, disability and support-needs information. Under UK data protection law this can be special category data. We only use it for the relevant support/service purposes, apply the appropriate lawful basis and additional special-category condition, and explain the processing in our privacy information.

If you are unhappy with how a service or refund request has been handled, you can also use our complaints process.

12. Changes to bookings or services

Occasionally we may need to make reasonable changes to an event, group or service because of circumstances outside our control. If a significant change means we can no longer provide substantially what you purchased, we will contact you and offer an appropriate alternative or refund.

13. Your statutory rights

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or restricts rights you have under applicable UK consumer law. Services supplied by ASD Helping Hands must be provided with reasonable care and skill. Where these terms conflict with a statutory consumer right, your statutory rights apply.
